New Dress!

Okay, so I'm not recreating an outfit, I just wanted to show off this new shirt dress I bought at a secondhand store that I am so excited about! At first, I was kind of turned off by the bubblegum pink, but I decided to try it on, just to give it a chance and I ended up loving it. It's really beachy feeling, and adding a belt breaks up the super bright pink of the dress and wore my gladiator sandals that I bought in Japan at a random department store/mall, but funny thing is, they are actually made by MUDD... so you can go to any JCPenny and buy these. Haha.

Once again, sorry about the crappy quality. I'm trying to mess around with natural light and inside light to figure out good lighting. I'm thinking about just taking the photos outside now, but that will require someone else to take my photos... and posing is just awkward!

First Outfit Post! :D

Alrighty. This is going to be my first post about.. clothes! Today I am focusing on an outfit from Natalie Off Duty. So far, it's one of my favorite outfits she has worn, though I haven't made even made it past the first page of her blog yet. (I keep getting distracted) The outfit consists of a cute lace crop top, a floral, kimono-esque throw-over and a long, denim, button up skirt, messenger bag and black flats.

For my outfit, I didn't have any lace tops, so I settled with a teal tank top that I pretty much wear with everything. I also didn't have any past-the-knee denim skirts, so I am wearing my asymmetrical denim skirt. My floral button up is one of two vintage shirts in my closet, which I got for free in a box outside of Ruby Begonia's in Lincoln. I also have on black flats, some bracelets, my favorite (for now) messenger bag, and my peace necklace that is my go-to necklace.

I know these are terrible pictures (quality, background, blah blah blah) but I don't have professional photographers following me around or any one with a camera for that matter. I'm thinking of asking some friends of mine to maybe take pictures of me once in a while. Just so I can have a few decent photographs here and there. :)

All About Me

Hey! My name is Brittni. I'm a 20 year old graphic designer with an Associates in Applied Science in Nebraska. I don't have a lot of clothes or a lot of money or any designer clothes. I shop a lot at Charlotte Russe, Target, Walmart, Wet Seal, Goodwill and various secondhand stores. I have two vintage shirts.. whoopdeedoo and the most expensive thing in my closet are my Birkenstock sandals, which are currently MIA from moving about five times within a year.

I'm a huge animal lover! I have two dogs, a mini dachshund and a mini poodle, who are pretty much my children. I used to be a vegetarian, all together for about 3 almost 4 years, but not consecutively. I consider myself a hippie at heart, being an advocate for peace and love, but not necessarily dressing like one 24/7. The Beatles are my favorite band, The Killers a close second. I'm a classic rock junkie, but I listen to almost everything under the sun... except most country and rap.

I live with my stepdad, as I am currently in between places and low on cash, in an incredibly small room with my two dogs. I work at an ad agency that is about a 55 minute commute. I am not a writer. Not a photographer. Not a model. Not the daughter of a socialite or a CEO. I work hard, I studied hard, I buy my own clothes, style my own hair... sometimes I cut my own hair. I have acne, scars, uneven skin tone, I am far from perfect. Nothing was ever given to me, I had to earn what I have, but that made me into the person I am today (cliche). I think the most important part is that I am happy.
